Using a Planning Performance Agreement, carefully orchestrated pre-application consultations and calling on a wide range of specialist consultants and skills Walsingham Planning put together a planning application seeking a new Swimming Pool at Butlins Bognor Regis, which was welcomed and approved at Planning Committee with unanimous support.
Prior to being heard at Committee, we worked extensively to provide a public exhibition and pre-submission briefings to explain how the proposals would benefit the Resort. Walsingham Planning coordinated a large consultant team to provide inputs on various technical matters, to ensure the application was robustly supported.
We were able to co-ordinate the team into dealing with all of the points of concern that arose during the application and, crucially, were able to keep the application to programme, so that work could commence as required in order to meet the requirements of the Resort to both gain a fantastic new facility and maintain the Resort as fully operational for guests during the construction phases.
Subsequently, Walsingham Planning have also been able to gain permission for associated works to provide new staff accommodation to replace that lost to deliver the new Swimming Pool.
