Walsingham Planning was originally instructed in 2013 to represent the developers of an 88 hectare site in North Somerset.
The development, which will deliver a significant boost to the housing land supply in North Somerset, comprises up to 1,150 dwellings, B1 office uses, retail development and a number of local community uses including a new primary school. Angus Meek Architects were the Architects of the Masterplan.
The Local Retail Centre within the site, which comprises up to three storeys of a retail and food and drink related floorspace (including restaurants and cafes, drinking establishments and hot food takeaways), is designed to serve the new community at Parklands, Village, Weston Super Mare.
The proposals act as a focal point for facilities and services and are easily accessible from all parts of the new development by a range of transport modes, including walking, cycling, public transport and private car.
The client brief included acting as lead consultant, preparation and coordination of the Environmental Statement, liaison with the LPA and other key stakeholders and briefing local politicians prior to Planning Committee. Planning permission for the first stage of development was granted in April 2015 and with subsequent development phases expected to be approved shortly.
